At the mobile crèche, children are admitted throughout the year. The atmosphere is very informal. Older children can come into the centre at any time of the day after finishing their domestic chores. This is especially true for older girls who have to have to manage household duties for their mothers. Services at TMCP go beyond providing children a joyful learning program and ensuring their fundamental rights.
Teachers at TMCP make efforts to increase awareness among the construction workers of many social issues such as the need for education, anti-superstition approach, the ill-effects of drinking, ills of child marriage, importance of education, etc. These issues are normally conveyed through street plays enacted by the staff members of TMCP and group meetings with the community. Street plays are an important tool to reach out to the parents and introduce them to social issues for their well-being. Plays are enacted by the Karyakartas at the construction sites generally after work hours. Professionals from a variety of fields are invited to talk to the construction workers and their families to sensitize them about matters to improve their quality of life. Women workers are continuously counseled in matters related to family planning, contraception etc.
